The Story

Years ago, Jason Osborne was the frontman of one of the most successful rock bands in the world. After countless awards, platinum records and almost thirty years together, the members decided to go their separate ways. Jason, now in his fifties, decided to devote himself to the education of young musicians, so that they too may have the chance to be as successful as he once was. He founded The Osborne Academy of Music and its reputation soon spread around the world. Now, students from all over the world come to study and learn, hoping that one day, they could become stars...

You

Student
You are the newest student at The Academy, choose your classes and study hard, maybe you too could make it big some day. But its not all about the hard work: make friends and form a band, or branch out on your own to reach stardom, party hard at The Pit or relax out on the grounds. These are the best years of your life, so why not make something of yourself? Become the school's prodigy performer or the notorious rebel, either way, there is something for everyone here.

Teacher
You are the newest addition to the faculty and there is much to look forward to. Guide young minds in their pursuit of knowledge and fame, socialize with the other staff and compete for promotion to Deputy Head and even become the next Principal of The Academy! But if you're not as concerned about your 'serious' obligations to the school, and more about letting the kids do their own thing and having a good time, well New York awaits! Go out and enjoy yourself!

Adult
Life in New York is hectic enough, working all day, partying all night, and then you have to deal with the Rock Academy students. Apply for a job in one of the many stores and bars, cope with the nine to five and the roudy students, chill out at one of the many parties, and try to stay sane while the world goes crazy! And if you're down and out and it looks like the end, just put your emotions on paper, you never know, it could be you who makes it big!

Classes

You may take as many classes as you wish, provided that you post in all of them once the teachers start them. So keep in mind when signing up for them whether you are prepared to post in all of them. The minimum is two.
Your character may take as many instrument classes (this includes Vocals) as you wish, but when applying, please state which one they are mainly focusing on. This is simply because of the impossibility of playing three instruments at once on stage

So be sure to choose the one you think would best suit your character.
If, for example, your character is both a guitarist and a lead vocalist, and does both of these on stage, they would be classified as a vocalist. They can still play both of these on stage, but it just helps the admins out when putting your character into a group. Similarly, if your character is a guitarist and backing vocalist, they would be a guitarist, as this is they're main part.

Note: More classes may be added as the site grows, you will be free to change which classes your character attends if another class that you prefer comes along later. Also, feel free to contact the admins if you wish to suggest a class that should be added.

Characters

You are allowed to have a maximum of four playable characters, please limit it to one character-per-account. If you wish to make multiple characters, please create a new account. In your four character limit you are allowed one staff character, as long as there are spaces in the faculty and your application is accepted by the admins. If your application is refused, you may delete your staff character and create another student.
Please make sure, if you create a staff character, that you are active with that character. It is not fair if you fill a place on the faculty and are not active in taking classes or posting in general. If you remain inactive with a staff character for a month or more, you will be sent a warning, and if the problem continues, your character will be deleted and their place in the faculty shall be made open once more.
Please make sure that you are also active with your student characters. Please only make four characters if you are prepared to be active with all of them. If you think that you would be unable to do that, please start with one or two, and then make another if you feel you would be able to cope with more.

Bands

If you and several other users decide to come together and make a band out of your collective characters, please feel free to PM the Headmaster or any other admin to have your band name registered and place in the talent show reserved. Bands with four or more members will be given priority when creating gigs and in the nominations for Band Of The Month they will be automatically entered into the final list for voting.
Please do not create multiple characters to go in the same band just to bump up the numbers and receive these bonus's. You are allowed to play one character in a band, the other members must be characters belonging to other members. Please get together with other users if you wish to form a band and make sure you are all agreed on possitions in the band and the name before one of you PM's an admin to register your band.

Please feel free to PM an admin if there is anything that you are confused or concerned about.
